About the Company
Partida Creus is a winery in southern Catalonia, located in Bonastre, in the region bathed by the Balearic Sea: Baix Penedès, in the province of Tarragona. The Bonastre massif is an uncontaminated area of the Penedès appellation, where dozens of grape varieties excluded from the DO Penedès and therefore at risk of extinction are grown. It is precisely for this pristine beauty that a couple of Italian architects – originally from the Langhe region – decided in 2007 to leave Barcelona in search of peace, nature and a slower life. When Antonella Gerona and Massimo Marchiori settle in Bonastre, they find many abandoned vines and a dizzying variety of local vines such as: vinyater, sumoll, garrut, monastrell, ull de perdiu, sumoll, queixal de llop, cariñena, trepat, parentage, maccabeu, parellada, bandage, bobal, cartoixà vermell or xarel.lo, mainly planted on poor, clayey-sandy, gravelly or calcareous-clayey soils. There Massimo and Antonella renovate an old agricultural building using recycled materials and transforming it into a cellar, they recover the abandoned vineyards and give them new life through biodynamic practices.
